Tikiboo Raises Over £95,000 For Breast Cancer Now
In an amazing 2 year partnership Tikiboo is pleased to announce that we have raised a grand total of £95,390 for Breast Cancer Now.
We cannot thank our customers enough for helping us achieve such an amazing total, to put it into perspective this is what the money could buy:
£95,000:
This could have funded over 3100 hours of research. That’s research to try and find new ways to prevent, detect, treat and eventually save lives from breast cancer.
OR
£75,000 can:
Fund the microscope facility for one year
The specialist microscopes at the Breast Cancer Now Research Centre are looked after by a dedicated team of experts, who maintain the equipment and provide training to researchers for their experiments to understand how breast cancer develops and spreads, so we can stop this from happening in the future.
£20,000 can:
Help our scientists make more breakthroughs faster
Your donation is enough to pay for the flow-cytometry facility at our research centre for a whole year. The machines in this facility use lasers to count and sort thousands of cells a minute. It requires a team of dedicated experts to maintain all this equipment, as well as teaching our scientists how to use them, so we can make breakthroughs faster and for a lower cost, hopefully bringing an end to deaths by breast cancer even sooner.
Sarah Canniford, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Breast Cancer Now, the research and care charity, said:
“A huge thank you to everyone at Tikiboo for all your incredible support of Breast Cancer Now over the last two years. The partnership has raised an amazing £95,000, helping us continue to make life-changing breast cancer research and care happen, now and in the future. We can’t thank Tikiboo’s staff and customers enough for all their commitment and generosity - with their support we are one step closer to achieving our goal that by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live and live well.”
