How to feel fit and fabulous on your Wedding Day
When you look back on your special day, you want to know that you looked your absolute best. Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life and every bride wants to feel fabulous and confident on the big day. This requires forward-thinking, preparation, and commitment. Here are our top tips on how to feel fit and fabulous on your wedding day:
Set fitness goals and start early
Getting in the best shape of your life is a very common goal among brides. Whether you’re looking to tone up, slim down, or just work off some wedding planning stress, a healthy wedding workout plan is usually an important part of getting ready for your big day. No matter what you’re hoping to achieve, it’s a good idea to set goals for yourself, so you can monitor whether or not you’re on track for your big day. Keep in mind that it takes time to see any physical changes to your body, and so it’s important to set a realistic goal and start working towards it early - you definitely don’t want to leave your fitness regime to the last minute! Helen Rodrigues Bridal Wear recommends at least 3 months of consistent training and good nutrition to see real results.
Having a workout plan is much better than crash dieting, but it’s still important to be conscious of what you’re eating and try to stick to a healthy diet. Wedding and event planner Mindy Weiss explains how "it's more important than ever at this time to eat a healthy diet, keep your energy up, and build strength to fight stress," She recommends a healthy diet based around high-energy food and plenty of water.
Tailor your exercise to you
All brides have different goals, and women come in all kinds of wonderful shapes and sizes. What works for one person, may not necessarily work for another. There is no point forcing yourself to the gym to do cardio for an hour every day if you hate it. There are plenty of fun workout options available including; dance classes, trampolining, and yoga, to name a few. So be creative and choose something that you’ll enjoy! This way you are much more likely to stay motivated and stick to your workout plan.
In today's busy and hectic society, not everyone has time to schedule in a daily gym session, especially if you have other family and work commitments to think about. But remember, any exercise is better than none and you need to work with what you have. There are plenty of great home exercise DVDs, along with fun workout videos available online. Even just doing a 20-minute morning workout at home will make a big difference.
Choose your dress early
A wedding dress is the centerpiece of the entire ceremony, and so it has to look perfect and make you feel fabulous! That’s why it’s wise to choose it long in advance, without leaving anything to chance. Finding your perfect wedding dress is also a great way to kick start your wedding workout goals. Once you know what style of dress you’ll be wearing - are you showing off your shoulders in a strapless dress? Bearing your legs in a shorter style? Or highlighting your hips in a mermaid style? - you’ll be able to set specific body goals and tailor your workouts to get targeting results.
Get your skin glowing
Every bride wants to look radiant and glowing on their big day, but getting the famous ‘bridal glow’ can take a bit more than your usual home face mask! Many brides choose to up their skincare regime leading up to the big day by scheduling a combination of treatments like, chemical peels and micro-facials, to help make sure that their skin has the perfect healthy glow.
Don’t forget to de-stress
Planning a wedding can be mentally and physically draining and can lead to brides feeling exhausted. Going to a spa and health club like Labspa in London is a great way to treat both your mind and body and escape from wedding preparations. A massage is a great stress reliever and revitalizing treatments like body wraps and scrubs, will help make sure your skin looks its best on the big day. In the weeks leading up to your wedding, make sure that you get enough sleep, eat well, and don’t exhaust yourself with overly strenuous workouts. You need to make time to relax and unwind to ensure that you look and feel your best on the big day.
